Text repeater — repeat text any number of times

Repeat any text as many times as you need, with your choice of separator and optional numbering from a custom template.

  • Runs in your browser
  • Nothing you enter is sent
  • Free, no account

Multi-line text works too — the whole block is repeated as one unit.

Up to 100,000 copies.

Separator between copies

{n} is the counter, {text} is your text.

Applies the template above to every repetition.

Useful when you are building a CSV row or a padded block.

How to repeat text

  1. Type or paste the text you want duplicated. Multi-line blocks are repeated as a single unit.
  2. Set how many copies you need — anything from 2 to 100,000.
  3. Choose what goes between the copies: a new line, a space, a comma, a blank line, nothing at all, or your own separator.
  4. Turn on numbering if each copy should be labelled, and edit the template to control exactly how.
  5. Copy the result or download it as a text file.

The numbering template

When numbering is on, each copy is built from a small template with two placeholders: {n} for the counter and {text} for your text. The starting number is yours to set, so you can continue a list that already exists.

What people repeat text for

  • Test data — generate hundreds of rows to check pagination, table performance or import limits.
  • Field-length testing — build a string of an exact character count to find where a form silently truncates.
  • Layout stress tests — repeat a long word to see how a component copes with overflow.
  • Numbered lists — produce a hundred sequential labels without dragging a spreadsheet handle.
  • Repeated markup — scaffold list items, table rows or component stubs before filling in real content.
  • Practice and drills — handwriting lines, typing practice, or a phrase repeated for a rehearsal script.

Size, speed and limits

Output is capped at roughly eight million characters — around 8 MB — so the browser can still display and copy the result. Building it happens in chunks with a repaint between them, and a determinate progress indicator appears while a large job runs. If you hit the cap, reduce the number of copies or download the file and concatenate it locally; a text file on disk has no such limit.

The character, line and byte figures under the output tell you exactly what you have produced, which is the point when the goal is a string of a specific size.

Nothing is uploaded

Repetition happens in your browser tab. Nothing is sent to a server, so you can safely repeat an internal template, a licence key format or a customer record without it leaving your machine — and the tool keeps working with the network off.

Questions

How many copies can I make?

Up to 100,000 repetitions, capped at roughly eight million characters of output so the page stays usable. If you hit the cap, download what you have — the file has no such limit once it is on disk.

Can I number each copy?

Yes. Turn on numbering and edit the template: {n} inserts the counter and {text} inserts your text, so "{n}. {text}" produces a numbered list and "row-{n}" produces sequential identifiers.

Can I use it to build test data?

That is a common use. Combine numbering with a custom separator to produce SQL value lists, CSV rows or padded strings of an exact length for testing field limits.

Does multi-line text work?

Yes. The whole block is treated as one unit, so a three-line template repeated five times gives fifteen lines, separated by whatever separator you choose.
