How to reorder pages in a PDF
- Drop the PDF onto the box above. Every page appears as a thumbnail card.
- Drag a card to a new spot, or use the ◀ and ▶ buttons on the card — those are keyboard accessible, so the whole tool works without a mouse.
- Rotate, duplicate or delete individual pages with the buttons underneath each thumbnail.
- Press Export PDF to build the reorganised document and download it.
Deleted pages are parked in a restore strip rather than thrown away, and Reset puts the document back to its original state at any point before you export.
What each control does
| Control | Effect |
|---|---|
| Drag a card / arrow buttons | Moves the page; every later page renumbers automatically |
| Rotate left / right | Adds 90° to that page's stored rotation, cumulative |
| Duplicate | Inserts a second copy of the page immediately after it |
| Delete | Moves the page to the restore strip, out of the export |
| Reverse order | Flips the whole document — useful for back-to-front scans |
| Reset | Restores the original order, rotations and deletions |
The small grey label under each card (for example p7) is the
page's number in the original file, so you can always tell where a card came from after a lot
of shuffling.
Fixing a badly scanned document
A sheet-feed scanner that cannot do duplex leaves you with all the fronts, then all the backs in reverse order. The fastest repair here is: scan the fronts, scan the backs, merge the two files, then use this tool to interleave them — drag the last back page after the first front page and work inwards. For a small document that takes under a minute, and the page content is never re-rendered, so nothing degrades.
Because export copies page objects verbatim, you can reorganise the same file repeatedly with no generational loss: the tenth export is byte-for-byte as sharp as the first.
Large documents
Thumbnails are rendered one page at a time so the interface stays responsive, and a progress bar shows how far along it is. A few hundred pages is comfortable on a laptop; on a phone, expect the previews to take longer and memory to be the limiting factor. Nothing is uploaded at any point, so a confidential document stays confidential.
Questions
How do I move a page without a mouse?
Focus a page card with Tab and use the move-left and move-right buttons, which are fully keyboard operable. Drag and drop is an alternative, not the only way.
Can I duplicate a page?
Yes — the duplicate button on each page card inserts a copy right after it, which is handy for building repeated cover or separator sheets.
Can I undo a deletion?
Deleted pages move to a restore strip below the grid until you export, so you can put any of them back. Reset restores the original order in one click.
Does the export keep the original quality?
Yes. Pages are copied as-is into the new document; nothing is re-rendered or re-compressed, so text and images are bit-for-bit the same.
